When Continental Airlines flight CO2471 landed in Nashville last dark, US virtually witnessed the first tryout of the strength of our Constitution. A close friend of mine was locomoting from Houston, TX back to Tennessee on this flight, when somely 20 proceedings into the flight, a steward near him. He was reading the book `` The Last Nationalist '' by Brad Thor ( Simon & Schuster ). The steward sayed him that he would should position off the book he was reading. My friend enquire why? The attender responded that there holded been a ill and that soul was piqued by seeing that book read publically.
My friend was stunned that this postulation was really being done... in USA! He answered angrily inquiring who holded been piqued? My friend is really loyal, rattlingly just minded, certainly not racist, but he was highlyincensed. So, to make sure he invited a voice loud plenty to be heard by others, `` Perchance that towel-head behind me? '' The attender maked not reply.
My friend stated that he would NOT place forth his book. He stated that this was still America - a land where we are free to read whatever we select. He stated that he would gladly treat with any `` offense '' when they landed in Nashville and that the airline could even hold him encountered with constabularies if they experienced necessary.
The steward returned to her station. Landing in Nashville... zippo occured. My friend deplaned, collected his baggage, attended his motortruck and named me.
I am scandalized at the action of this steward and enquire if this doings is excused by Continental Airlines. Because my friend was really fatigued and maked n't desire to `` do any farther scene, '' he maked n't engage the Captain or a Continental representative to discourse the thing last nighttime. But, residual ensured... he is a nationalist, a proud American... and this will not be the terminal of the narrative.
As I sit tonight believing about this incident, I can not simply allow this locomote unnoticed. This is hideous! A direct insult to our Constitution and to our freedom. Since when maked we, Americans, commence to fear piquing somebody? Are we afraid of litigation? Of being marked racialist or discriminatory? When maked we permit our personal freedoms to be abolished? When maked we commence apologise for everything under the Sun?
Goodly, thank you Mr. Barak `` I 'm Soh Sorry '' Obama for placing the precedent that our citizens should apologise for being FREE Americans. As a matter of fact, Darn you. And Shit the `` pained '' rider who is excessively weak to confront opposing perspectives and apparently overly stupid to cognize to merely turn his caput or - how about this - IGNORE IT. And Hoot Continental Airlines, and specifically this steward, for really holding the nervus, no - the stupidity to move on such an horrific postulation from a rider. [ Following clip I am `` piqued '' by soul 's odor, I shall merely inquire the steward to force him out of the aeroplane! ]
Maybe, though, I am more appallled at our ain citizens who keep to accept such bunk and comply! Those are the people who, sadly, make not deserve the freedom in which they dwell. It rattlingly does me take suspension and reconsider the old phrases, `` endurance of the fittest '' and `` thin the herd. ''
I inquire you my readers, how many others of you hold seen a similar event?
Oh, and incidentally... travel purchase Brad Thor 's book `` The Close Patriot '' Read the Constitution OUTLOUD, Fly an Star-spangled banner, and state a supplication publically!! Lashkar-e-Tayyiba Holds all offend individual tomorrow!
